Aktion National Airport (IATA code PVK) is the airport for Preveza and Lefkada. It sits on the Aktion peninsula, across the strait from Preveza town, and most flights are seasonal charters from spring to autumn. Fraport Greece runs it.

Essentials

Aktion Airport (Preveza, PVK)

Preveza's airport, on the Aktion peninsula across the strait: about 8 km and 15 minutes from the town centre through the undersea tunnel.

Driving times from the airport

By road, measured from the terminal:

  • Preveza town: 8 km, about 15–20 minutes through the undersea tunnel (toll €3 as of January 2026)
  • Kanali: 18 km, about 25 minutes
  • Lefkada town: 23 km, about 30 minutes over the floating bridge
  • Agios Nikitas (Lefkada): 36 km, about 45 minutes
  • Nidri (Lefkada): 39 km, about 50 minutes
  • Vasiliki (Lefkada): 60 km, about 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Parga: 67 km, about 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Sivota (Thesprotia): 93 km, about 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Ioannina: 109 km, about 1 hour 50 minutes

Times are for light traffic. On summer weekends allow more, especially at the tunnel and on the Lefkada bridge.

Taxi

The taxi rank is opposite Arrivals (Terminal Building B). Taxis are metered. For long trips such as Parga or Sivota, agree the price with the driver before you set off. If you land late in the evening, book a taxi or transfer in advance: there may be fewer cars than passengers.

Bus

Buses link the airport with Preveza (KTEL Preveza), Lefkada (KTEL Lefkadas) and Vonitsa (KTEL Aitoloakarnanias). You buy the ticket from the driver. The stop is not inside the airport: walk out of Arrivals, turn left past the taxi rank and follow the exit road to the junction with the main road, where the shelter has the timetables.

Buses are not timed to flights and run only a few times a day, so check the timetable before you land: KTEL Preveza, KTEL Lefkadas, KTEL Aitoloakarnanias.

Car hire

Five firms have desks in Arrivals: AVIS-Budget, Drive, Sixt, Hertz-Thrifty and KapaRent/Europcar. A car is the easiest way to see the area: most beaches, the Acheron and the ancient sites have no regular bus. If you drive to Preveza or Parga, keep change or a card for the tunnel toll.

Parking

There is free public parking opposite the terminal for short stays.

Where next
