Preveza Airport to Lefkada: Bus, Taxi and Driving Times

Lefkada is joined to the mainland by a floating bridge, so you can reach every part of the island by road from Aktion airport. You do not go through the Preveza tunnel on this route.

By car

• Lefkada town: 23 km, about 30 minutes
• Agios Nikitas: 36 km, about 45 minutes
• Nidri: 39 km, about 50 minutes
• Vasiliki: 60 km, about 1 hour 10 minutes

On summer Saturdays, traffic queues at the bridge, which also opens for boats at set times.

By taxi

The taxi rank is opposite Arrivals. Taxis are metered. Transfer companies quote around €30–35 for Lefkada town (reported 2025–2026); Nidri and Vasiliki cost more. Agree the price first for longer trips.

By bus

KTEL Lefkadas runs buses between the airport and Lefkada town, about five a day on weekdays and fewer on Sundays (2026, per a local Lefkada site). A local Lefkada site lists the fare at €4.50 (2026). The ride takes about 30 minutes. Pay the driver. The stop is at the junction with the main road outside the airport. From Lefkada town, other KTEL buses go on to Nidri, Vasiliki and the west coast. Check times on ktel-lefkadas.gr before you land: buses are not timed to flights.

Tips

• If your flight lands in the evening, book a taxi or transfer: the last bus may have gone.
• Car hire desks are in Arrivals, and a car makes the west-coast beaches much easier.
