Preveza Airport to Preveza Town and Kanali

The airport and Preveza face each other across the narrow strait into the Ambracian Gulf. The Aktio–Preveza undersea tunnel, 1,570 m long and open since 2002, links them.

By car

• Preveza town centre: 8 km, about 15–20 minutes. The tunnel toll is €3 for a car (January 2026).
• Kanali: 18 km, about 25 minutes, through the town and north along the coast road.
• Monolithi beach: on the way to Kanali.

By taxi

The rank is opposite Arrivals. Taxis are metered. It is a short ride: one traveller reported about €25 in 2024, including the tunnel. In the evenings and on busy charter days, book ahead.

By bus

KTEL Preveza buses stop at the junction with the main road outside the airport and go to the bus station on Ioanninon Street in Preveza. They run only a few times a day and are not timed to flights. Check ktelprevezas.gr.

First evening in town

Walk the waterfront and the old town lanes around the clock tower.

The stone clock tower of 1792 in Preveza's old market, paid for by the townspeople under the Venetians. Ali Pasha took its first bell to Ioannina.

Beaches

Monolithi Beach

One of the longest beaches in Greece: kilometres of sand and fine pebbles on the open Ionian, backed by the pine forest of Monolithi, 10 minutes from Preveza.
