Kryoneri Beach (Parga)

Parga town, below the centre (about 61 km / 1 hour from Preveza)

The town beach of Parga, facing the islet of Panagia, with the smaller Piso Kryoneri cove next door among high rocks.

About Kryoneri Beach (Parga)

Kryoneri is the main beach of Parga, right in the town and a short walk from the centre. It looks straight across the bay to the islet of Panagia and its church. A small, tall rock just offshore in the middle of the bay is called Skorda by the locals.

Immediately to the east is Piso Kryoneri, a small beach also inside the town, closed in by high rocks. The church of Agios Athanasios stands at Kryoneri.

Kryoneri has been a subject for visitors for a long time: Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria published an engraving of its shore and rocks in 1907.

Good to know

  • Since it is in the town, it is the easiest beach to reach without a car.
  • For a smaller cove, look for Piso Kryoneri just to the east.

Help keep it unspoiled: take your rubbish with you, never light fires outdoors in summer, and respect wildlife and local life. How to travel responsibly
