About Kiani Akti (Κυανή Ακτή)
Kiani Akti ("Blue Coast") is the sandy beach closest to Preveza town. It sits at the southern tip of the peninsula, where the Ionian meets the narrow channel into the Ambracian Gulf, about 1.6 km from the centre. That makes it the easiest swim if you're staying in town and don't have a car.
The shore has a designated swimming area and beach-volleyball facilities. Across the water you can see the marinas of Aktio.
Close by are Preveza's thermal springs, known locally as "Paliosaranga". A short walk west brings you to the Castle of Pantokrator, built by Ali Pasha in the early 19th century, and on to the beaches of Pantokratoras and Alonaki. The town's cycling route along the coast passes through here too.
Good to know
- Easy to reach on foot or by bike from the town centre.
- Late afternoon is a good time: the beach faces the channel and the Aktio side, and town is a short walk away for dinner.
