A small private museum in a restored olive-oil factory in Parga, showing how the town's main pre-tourism product was made, with olive-oil tastings.
About Paragaea – Old Olive Oil Factory, Parga
Before tourism, olive oil was Parga's main industry, and the olive groves that cover its hills go back to the Venetian period. Paragaea is a private museum in a restored olive-oil press in the town. It opened in June 2012, and the building worked as an olive-oil factory from 1929 to 1974.
The museum shows the traditional way of making olive oil, using the original tools and machinery. Visits end with an olive-oil tasting.
